I ordered two of these to put Christmas decorations on my doorstep. Two came in an undamaged box. It looked good. One didn't fire at all - tried many new type C batteries. It was completely wrong. So I sent it back. Another caught fire after I messed with it for about an hour. As it turned out, it only burned for about two hours and never really lit again. Lights up briefly and then goes out. Although there are no instructions with the item, I'm pretty sure I set it up correctly. My husband and I use a ton of lights for various holiday displays and other battery powered items and are very good at these things. My husband even tried to fix it by working on the internal wiring, but the only way to get to the internal wiring was to break the plastic box that the batteries are in (no screw cap or anything), so that wasn't the case. use. We return the second. The chance of getting two broken string lights is very unlikely unless the product is cheap and totally unreliable. It is strongly recommended that you do NOT worry about this product. It's a shame as they are hard to find. A complete waste of my time and effort and now I have another order that definitely needs to be returned. What a problem!
