I can't measure the brightness but it seems about the same compared to other 400cd/m^2 monitors. Connects perfectly to my Lenovo laptop and iPhone (with digital adapter), no fiddling required. The computer defaults to its native resolution with the included HDMI cable. The color seems good; Again, I can't determine the accuracy, but it's not blurry or too dark. The body is metal, not plastic. Consumes <10W from a 12V power supply, which is also impressive. I'll update the review later if it fails for some reason, but for now it's a good second monitor.
