It only lasted 8 months

The monitor only lasted 8 months in normal office use before the color faded. I didn't move it or drop it. If you touch the upper edge of the monitor, the color returns briefly, but then fades out again. Almost all Dell monitors in the office have done so in a couple of years or so.
