I had a model that sat on the floor next to my sump pump. Luckily he warned us that the water was starting to overflow due to a pump failure. The water came from melting all the snow. It wasn't a sudden heavy rain. For now! Luckily my wife can hear well enough to notice that the alarm went off. It turned out that the backup battery in the secondary pump was dead. What I didn't understand is that the primary installation has been out of service for a long time. Even if you have a spare pump, it's worth having. I have several scattered in the basement, next to the washing machine, next to the kettle. So I decided to buy them. I can lower them down the hole to be alarmed before the water reaches the top. Once you receive them and put them in your basement, you can imagine a chic smart home email look with your phone app. ;) For a few euros you can prevent a hell of a lot of water damage!
