I really like this lamp, mostly because the simple cylindrical lampshade spreads the light efficiently and has a small shape/volume that doesn't get in the way crowded areas. That makes it a bit harder for people with big hands to screw in the bulb, but I'd just like to pick that out. The narrow, unobtrusive lampshade is definitely worth it. The lampshade is glass so can break if dropped (personally I would prefer a plastic one but that doesn't matter). Slap the shadow over the bar and you're done. There is a ring at the top of the rod that needs to be unscrewed before putting on the lampshade. It will be merged so you can skip it.
