I have several DSLRs with 3 inch LCD screens; one has a built-in viewfinder eyepiece and the other doesn't. I look through the eyepiece while zooming in on distant objects, especially outdoors. I miss this feature in simpler and cheaper DSLRs without an eyepiece. Before ordering this device, I researched different types of LCD viewfinders on the internet. This is the easiest and most convenient way. A narrow metal frame is attached around the LCD viewfinder, which is stamped with double-sided tape to match the frame. Then the LCD viewfinder eyepiece is magnetized exactly on the LCD frame when attaching. The eyepiece strap on the LCD viewfinder makes it easy to carry. I find this method to be a quick and convenient way to attach an LCD viewfinder when needed, compared to other types that attach with a series of bulkier, adjustable adapters. connected to the tripod mounting screw. This blocks access to the battery and SD slot on some cameras. I found it too inconvenient to take everything apart just to swap out the battery or SD card when needed. Despite some less than positive reviews, I decided to take a chance because of its convenience and simplicity. The order came quickly despite the originally estimated arrival date of 2 weeks. This gave me time to properly assemble and inspect the product. The viewfinder was carefully packed and came in a suitcase. It comes with 2 metal frames as described and a microfiber cloth to clean the LCD screen properly before installing the metal frame. My only two criticisms: the double-sided tape on the very narrow metal frame (as others have pointed out) doesn't quite stick to the LCD viewfinder, even after thorough cleaning. Also, in my case, the double-sided tape is not perfectly aligned with the metal frame, so some parts of my LCD screen darken slightly and the metal frame comes loose under constant and constant pressure. I contacted support and found them very polite, helpful and quick to respond. After explaining my situation and my findings, they said that not only could they replace the frames, they had to replace the entire order (but I have to pay for shipping back to them). At the same time, they were honest and mentioned that the replacement might have the same double-sided tape misalignment problems due to the very narrow metal frame. They then offered me a small discount/refund if I keep it, which I did as I have another metal frame to work with. On the second try, after cleaning the LCD screen surface again and realigning the metal frame with the LCD screen, I applied a little more pressure around the frame to help the double-sided tape adhere better to the LCD glass. I then placed the camera on a flat surface with a flat LCD screen and hoped the camera's weight and gravity would work in my favor. I waited 2 days before reattaching/magnetizing the eyepiece to the metal frame; and so far so good. Also, detach the magnetic eyepiece from the metal frame when not in use to prevent the weight of the eyepiece from slowly lifting the magnetized metal frame off the LCD screen when placed on an uneven surface. I hope you find these suggestions and reviews helpful when you decide to buy the same product.
