SECURE DIGITAL EXTENDED CAPACITY ---SDXC format explained

SECURE DIGITAL EXTENDED CAPACITY ULTRA HIGH SPEED ----SDXC UHS-1 --- the latest digital flash card format. They came onto the market in 2009 with up to 2 terabytes of memory. (Incredible, right?) A 64GB CENTON card, although my computer only reads 59GB. Obviously you have file information that is taking up some space. These cards are said to be backwards compatible, but it's the exFAT file system that causes problems for older digital host electronics when working with this new format. If you have questions about compatibility and want to use SDXC cards with electronics purchased before 2010, you MUST have questions, then you should search "SECURE DIGITAL" on Wikipedia. There you will find a table to help you determine what is compatible with what. The BIG problem with the new batch of 64GB cards is that many fake cards come from China. The card can display 64GB on your host device, but the storage is not required. As a result, you get corrupted files or something worse. I recommend a free utility that checks cards to see if they have as much memory as the manufacturer claims. The utility is called H2TESTW 1.4. This is a small download. This utility fills your card with memory files up to its maximum capacity. I ran this test on a 64GB CENTON card. He filled out the card and then deleted the files, no problem. As for the high-speed claim, I just don't know how fast the UHS-1 is supposed to run. The H2testW 1.4 utility was designed to test SDXC card capacity and speed, but I may have misunderstood some of the test results. My computer also checked the card and found no problems. My computer has no problems with this card. It works for both writing and reading. However, I was planning to use this card with my digital camera so I could capture and transfer digital video files without having to erase my 2GB card every time I use it. Unfortunately, my camera cannot navigate the exFAT file system that these SDXC cards use. This card is good for the price. However, go to the SECURE DIGITAL wiki page for this table that explains backwards compatibility. If you encounter a card that you suspect has incorrect memory, use the H2testW 1.4 utility to test it. Since 64GB SDXC cards are relatively new, beware of unscrupulous sellers trying to offload older cards with less memory, like 64GB. Try to stick to brands you know and trusted retailers.
