Great Bang for The Buck

This is an SDXC UHS-1 64GB Class 10 card. In fact, this is an improvement over SDHC, which has a maximum capacity of 32GB. UHS-1 refers to "Super High Speed Bus". Type 1 UHS - 105MB/s read and 50MB/s write. There is a Type 2 that doubles that speed, but I found this card to be more than adequate. I tested the card with my Canon EOS Rebel T5 and it coped very well with both fast photos and videos. I've found that I need to format the card before my Mac can read it (even though the camera read it

Doubled my camera's memory; no loss of recording time

I have been using a Centon Electronics flash memory card (S1-SDXU1-64G) in my Samsung digital camera as well as in my Sony digital video camera for a few weeks. With an impressive 64GB of storage, this high-performance SD card has doubled the capacity of my previous SD cards. While this is not a problem with my digital camera, the card has already eliminated the inconveniences of lack of memory on my camcorder (which has 16GB internal memory) during travel/sightseeing. The Centon SD card…

Fast and reliable! for SD cards

I asked my tech savvy son how he would test an SD card. He said you can calculate the time, right? If you have a technical website, you can try splitting it in half. Instead, I decided to test it where it matters to me, on my Sony NEX-5TL compact interchangeable lens digital camera with a power zoom 16-50mm lens. If you have a good fast camera, you don't want it to get bogged down in a slow write speed card. This card is very fast with no lag in normal, continuous or video mode, and unlike…

Superb SD card (it's SDXC, not SDHC)

SD cards have become a commodity and many vendors offer products that meet standard compatibility and speed specifications, so I knew I had to buy this card depending on what it was would rate it 5 stars or 1 star if I had any issues with it. Other things being equal, I usually prefer to buy well-known brands like SanDisk, Lexar, Kingston, Sony, Samsung, PNY or Transcend. The Centon card is cheaper than all these other brands. I would have checked the user reviews here for reliability…

The title of the review speaks for itself. I ran a series of tests at different file sizes and depending on the file size, this Centon card averaged 10-40% faster write times than the Sandisk Extreme SDXC UHS-I 64GB 45MB/s card currently listed on Revain .com for $54.99 is available. I noticed a typo in the Revain specification. The card is listed at 80MB/s read, 20MB/s write. This is incorrect, the product packaging claims 105MB/s read and 50MB/s write. With the help of Centon I was able to…

Pros
  • Excellently done

Very good value for money for relatively new devices with SDXC cards.

The first thing to know about this or any other SDXC flash card is that it will not run on devices released before its industry standard was approved in 2009. If you have an older electronic device that supports SD cards, your device is capped at 2GB. If you have a slightly newer device that accepts SDHC cards, the upper limit is 32GB. This or any other SDXC flash card can ONLY be used in devices that are new enough and certified for use with SDXC cards. In a suitable device, like my Acer…

SECURE DIGITAL EXTENDED CAPACITY ---SDXC format explained

SECURE DIGITAL EXTENDED CAPACITY ULTRA HIGH SPEED ----SDXC UHS-1 --- the latest digital flash card format. They came onto the market in 2009 with up to 2 terabytes of memory. (Incredible, right?) A 64GB CENTON card, although my computer only reads 59GB. Obviously you have file information that is taking up some space. These cards are said to be backwards compatible, but it's the exFAT file system that causes problems for older digital host electronics when working with this new format. If you…
