After getting this fan I tested it with a USB power adapter and it worked fine. Fast forward to when I was using this fan on a recent camping trip and it only went weak when plugged into my 2.4 amp 12 volt USB cigarette lighter?! I swapped the USB connector for another one and the same thing happened?! Then someone in my group had a USB with a 3 amp output and by running that fan I was able to use 2 higher fan speeds. When I got home I checked the PSU I originally tested it with and sure enough it was 3 amps too. So if you want this fan to be fully functional at 12 volts, make sure your USB has a dedicated 3 amp output.
