Review on 🍹 MORGIANA PLA Drinking Straws: Eco-Friendly, Disposable Flexible Straws for Cocktail Party - Pack of 100 (Black) by Debbie Williams

Thin and fragile but made from biodegradable plant-based materials

These straws caught my eye because they are individually wrapped, plant based and biodegradable. We use straws a lot in our house and are happy to offer our guests straws along with their drinks. It is slightly better to offer them an individually wrapped straw that will ensure they receive a new and clean straw, especially with the ongoing pandemic. They are nicely packaged in a cardboard box for easy storage, unlike most straws which are packaged in a plastic bag. The straws themselves are very thin and flimsy. Especially in the regulated and flexible segment. It folds a little in the middle, which impedes liquid flow a bit, and looks like it might tear and split at the joint, but that's okay if you bend it carefully. It's probably not surprising that they're so thin, as that could be precisely because they're biodegradable, which is why they're not meant to last long. This is frankly a disappointment because when buying drinking straws I always choose a good strong straw to avoid this. They are also significantly more expensive than regular straws. However, I will omit these details and give them the attention they deserve because I want to be environmentally conscious.

Pros
  • 🍹Plant-based straws: durable and stylish. Our straws are made from polylactic acid (PLA), which is derived from renewable plants such as corn, corn grass and sugar beets. This straw is 0% melamine and 0% BPA free. PLA is plant-based, not petroleum-based.
Cons
