Review on FireStik IBA 5 Indoor Base Antenna by Robert Hole

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well, I'm not gonna lie and say it's awful. Not great either

Well I'm not going to lie and say it's terrible. It's not great either. I had to get this due to limitations and ease of portability. I actually managed to set this up nicely with a wave ratio of about 1.3:1 on CB. By adding a spring at the base of the antenna I was able to reduce this from 0.1 to 1.4:1. I can get multiple weather channels, actually about 4 channels, which isn't bad at all considering I couldn't get this with anything other than 102 inches on a cell phone in my area. He also gets some chatter on the CB frequencies. , but the downside is it doesn't reach a local I know 4.5 miles away. I'm content, no matter what, there's not much I can do That's probably the best I'll get. If it's an urgent message, I can switch to cellphone, it goes off, and even if it's not, I can move the cellphone. This Firestik IBA-5 antenna is great for apartments, RVs, hunters, etc. who do the same would like to set up a temporary base.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
