Measured at the top of the rim, so the 12-inch skillet listed is actually an 8.5-inch 0-pan cast-iron cooktop. I'm used to high quality teflon coated straight sided pans so this is educational for me. I'm tired of switching pans as I do a lot of frying and high heat frying. I've never had to order the cast iron I've used in the past and the size deceived me. I used to use a 10" covered pan and a 12" deep 4" covered pan almost every day. They have straight sides, so the edges and base were the same size. So I ordered a 15" pan to replace my 12" pan and there is already a 12" cast iron body available to replace my 10" pan. I am grateful to Revain and my ability to bring back such surprising items. That's why I keep coming back to Revain.
