Review on X ACTO Commercial Electric Pencil Sharpener by Hannah Curi

I bought this sharpener in November 2009. As a homeroom teacher, I went broke and spent $140 on them. I'm tired of buying sharpeners that break every school year. I bought mid-priced pencil sharpeners and was so upset they wouldn't last the school year. I decided on this sharpener. I was the only one allowed to use it. I never let my first years use it. I used it for a whopping 7 YEARS before noticing that its sharpness was diminishing. These decorative pencils with plastic wrap and glitter are the worst! It took longer to sharpen and the pencil tip was crooked. I packed it for my summer vacation in 2016 and it stayed there until 2019. In the meantime my school has bought 2 X-acto Schoolpro sharpeners which have lasted 1 year each. Last year I started looking for a new heavy duty sharpener. Then I remembered that I could order replacement blades for my X-acto Heavy Duty Commercial sharpener I had in my school cupboard (because, see, most elementary school teachers are hoarders and never throw anything away!). So I ordered replacement parts for $21 and replaced them with no problem. Phillips and flathead screwdrivers were required, but if this kindergarten teacher can do it, anyone can! A full decade since original purchase, it works like new! It's safe to say that this is the BEST pencil sharpener on the market! Stop buying mediocre sharpeners. Pay and make your life easier!
