A Mixed Bag Experience with Dulytek Double-Stitched Nylon Filters

When it comes to filtering, I've tried different variations in the past and sought to give Dulytek's Double-Stitched Nylon Filter Bags a try. The 20 Pack, 25 Micron, 2" x 6" bags promised no blowouts and I set out to verify that claim. What I liked about these bags is that they were able to catch a great deal of the particles I didn't want to mix in, leaving me with a clean and smooth end-product. The 25-micron mesh made a difference and it was a noticeable improvement from using lower quality bags. However, the no blowouts guarantee didn't quite hold up for me. I ended up having one of the bags burst during the process, which contributed to some lost product and a dirty surface. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind. Another item worth noting is the size of the bags, which didn't fully match my needs. They were too short for my liking and looked more like sachet bags than proper filter bags. This meant that I needed to fold the product over, or overstuff each bag, which had its own set of drawbacks and provided more hassle than I would have liked. Overall, Dulytek's Double-Stitched Nylon Filter Bags achieve what they promise in most regards. No blowouts are a good thing and the 25 micron mesh definitely made a difference. But with a few minor issues, these are still finding their full stride.

Pros
  • This package comes with 20 filter bags, allowing you to have multiple bags ready to go for your next pressing session. The 2" X 6" size is perfect for small to medium-sized presses, so you won't have to worry about cutting and sizing the bags yourself
Cons
  • Filter quality: While the bags are 25 microns, some users have reported that the filter quality is not as strong as advertised, causing plant matter to leak into the oil or concentrate
