Robust and well made

Everything fits and works as it should. I bought individual mounts. The screws aren't included, which is fine, but they should be a recommended size so you can round them up before beginning the installation. Installed with a 1 micron graduated filter, it makes a big difference to the mineral stains that we find difficult to control. Buy this one, not the cheap one, and you will be happy.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons

Well made but no screws

Sturdy case that's unlikely to break and flood your house. It can be difficult to unscrew after 6 months of use, but no more than other models of this design. No mounting screws or information on which to use are supplied. Someone designed 4 holes on the filter for a specific mount, it would be nice if they could tell us what it is.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • boring packaging

Good product but there were no brackets or screws to attach the filter housing to the bracket. For such money should. If you are considering a whole house filtration system, get Home Master. This is a complete two step assembly. NO hardware, screws, brackets to buy and deal with. If I had to do it all over again I would do it instead of building the assembly myself.

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • The list will be long.

He's definitely big.

It's big and seals well. I had to upgrade to a larger case after not being able to find the thinner cartridges I had previously used. I was hoping I wouldn't have a noticeable drop in water pressure and so far there has been no drop. Everything seems as before. The cartridges appear to have a "pre-filter" section rather than the thinner cartridges. I hope they last longer. Great case, easy to install, works great.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • It pisses me off

Good product, bad packaging from the manufacturer

Good product, bad packaging from the manufacturer. I bought three, one tin came with a crushed o-ring. It was twisted when the o-ring was not installed properly and a large hole formed in the o-ring. So I had to buy another one. I also bought three mounts. Neither the mounting brackets nor the filter canisters came with screws to attach the brackets to the canisters. annoying screws.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Transparency

I use this with a particulate filter to protect some equipment at work. Recently my mother complained about the taste of tap water and the cost of fridge filters. I bought one of those Big Blue units, bracket and charcoal filter. When connected to the mains water supply, the whole house can benefit from the reduction in odors and bad taste. The 20 inch filter is overkill but I'm curious to see how long it lasts. Really great purchase!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Very expensive

I recently moved into a newly built house. I had light to moderate rainfall and a water radon reading of 4.9. I installed a Big Blue 10 with a particle filter (DGD-5005) and a Big Blue 20 with a GAC filter (GAC 20BB). The sediment immediately dissolved. Six weeks later I had my water tested for radon and the result was 2.5. My water tastes great and I've saved a lot of money by reducing the radon levels in the water this way instead of having it professionally softened. My total cost was less…

Good quality! Ease of installation.

Installs on existing PE water pipe in approximately 20 minutes using shark bit fittings. Be sure to purchase the filter bracket and wrench as they are not included. Extra o-rings and silicone o-rings are a good idea in case they break during a filter change. The body is made of very hard and heavy reinforced plastic. The kind of weight I don't wonder if it's going to pop when I'm not home. The only thing that could be improved is the filter centering ring at the bottom of the housing, which…

Pros
  • Replacement Water Filter
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Excellent product ruined by a cheap pressure release button

The unit itself looks very high quality. We had the unit professionally installed by a licensed plumber while we installed a new water heater. After the plumber left I noticed water seeping out of the pressure release button. Thinking that it just wasn't sealed properly or that there was some dirt stuck in it, I turned off the water and tried various ways to fix it. After the pressure was built up again, it just kept dripping. It also didn't seal over time. I'm not surprised, because the…

So far it's working great!

I bought a house with a small (2 7/8) whole house water filter. My well water is quite good, but with sediment, iron flakes, and a slight odor of sulfur dioxide. I've used a WM or HD 2 micron carbon filter for about $5 each, but they clogged in 2.5-4 weeks. I decided to upgrade and install a Dual BB system with a sediment pre-filter and main carbon block with gauges in between to assess filter life. Based on the performance of the smaller filter, I think sediment is my biggest problem because…
