I have had two Himalayan salt lamps for a year now and I always compliment myself on the purchase. The atmosphere they create is so relaxing and beautiful! Sometimes I'll just look at mine in the living room and watch the glow fade in and out a bit and even change its tone a bit. I increase it during the day to get the most benefit and darken it at night so it has a tiny bright glow in the middle and a dark glow at the top. It really gets my son to calm down and go to bed. I even installed it in our master bedroom when my husband, son or I was ill and it really helped speed up our recovery. My daughter also has one in her room and she usually leaves it on all the time. I think it really helped her in her overall mental and emotional state. She is 13 years old and going through the usual changes in her life and I sincerely believe this lamp will help her not to become overly depressed, stressed, overwhelmed etc. Before I bought the lamp, our whole family was constantly faced with a stressful life. But since we've had it, I've noticed a gradual shift in everyone's ability to get along and be more positive about things. It obviously doesn't change our lifestyle or what we do, but it kind of took a lot of stress off the air. I wanted to spend a lot of time seeing if there were any noticeable differences and I'm confident enough to say that these lamps do have some impact on the atmosphere. This is a very holistic approach. I will be buying more for other rooms in our apartment like our master bedroom and my son's bedroom. I also invest in some essential oil diffusers as I have tried my own coconut oil/tea tree oil/peppermint oil blend and it has kept my high functioning 5 year old son with autism and ADHD calm most days that I have used his.
