The salad worked without making a mess. Fruit and rice are not suitable for this item. But let my lettuce soak, then drain and rinse. Everything is done in one container. Not a single vegetable is missing! Nice and easy to clean. Fruit requires my intervention after soaking and rinsing. It didn't get a 5 because the handle holding the strainer doesn't have enough movement to keep pouring out the water you strain, you have to tilt it a bit. Also, I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a separate fruit colander.
