Have been using the same Lange Stick for over two years! The one I finally have to leave. I'm on the second now. I got burned too, so I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. I'm surprised by all the negative comments. However, everyone has a different hair type. I have naturally curly hair, but my curls get frizzier when my hair dries naturally. I love waves in my hair. This stick helps me. I use a thicker glove than the one that comes with the kit, which is very handy. I burned myself not using the glove. Make sure you always use a glove and don't get it that close to your head and you'll be fine.
