This iron goes from history

Oh those memories of the old days and chores. Proctor Cylex has been around ever since. A very good iron with a non-stick coating that helps the iron glide over the surface. It's not exactly non-stick, because when you fuse the fabric, dirt collects on it and you have to wipe it off with a warm cloth. Then wipe the surface with wax paper. But the beauty of this iron is in balance; not too light and not too heavy, easy to move through thick fabrics. I haven't found anything better for ironing thick fabrics; This iron takes them with ease. Attention: The heel is narrow and allows easy ironing while standing. Cable length is good but can be a bit awkward at times. Love the extra steam button but now my regular steam doesn't seem to work. The iron heats up quickly, and when the iron needs to be heated, the light will flash and remain constant after heating; it doesn't turn off. Overall a very good iron for the price! And of course a "walk through the past”. UPDATE: I've had this iron since July and the steam doesn't work at all. You have to press the "Steam Boost" button all the time to release steam. The return window is closed, otherwise I would return it.
