It's not exactly non-stick, because when you fuse the fabric, dirt collects on it and you have to wipe it off with a warm cloth. Then wipe the surface with wax paper. I like retro style. Why not have an iron similar to the one I grew up with? I must have spent a lot of time ironing my father's handkerchiefs as a child. This is the #4 iron I bought, all others have been unsuccessful. And sent it back. All are way more expensive than this one so you might think they are good. no They all had a brief auto shut off, which I hated. I use my iron while sewing, so I want one that either heats up very quickly or just lasts longer even when parked. This one does both
