I had a similar grill before I bought this one but the problem was that not only did the food stick to the grill it also dried out the meat I was going to cook on it . I was afraid this grill would be the same, but it isn't. Whether I use something to make it non-stick or not, nothing sticks to this grill. I used it as a sandwich press most of the time, but I've also used it to cook a variety of meats. One species that totally shocks me from a chef is salmon. Not only was I able to fully cook 2 salmon steaks and not have to worry about one of them sticking to the grill, it came out juicy and delicious. I could even cook shrimp, chicken, pork chops and even hamburgers and steaks and they didn't dry out or burn. This grill is really easy to use and really absorbs fat so everything is way healthier than usual when cooking with fat.
