These are powerful tools and 18v batteries are very helpful when working on a project. They deliver more power, which means longer run times and more torque to get things done. I love flashlights and use them all the time. For 10 1/2 years I have never burned out a flashlight bulb as it is very durable. It is even designed for 18, 28 and 36 volts. There is a spare bulb in the reflector. If you need new bulbs, buy a Dewalt Pack DW9083 with two bulbs. My drill helped installing 2 decks and repairing a third, and using a reciprocating saw I cut through 2X4s, plywood and even quickly trimmed the bottom small branches. These tools save lives.
