I'm not a professional photographer and not even an enthusiast, I've been trying to learn more about my camera and what it takes to get the best possible results. I bought this lens for the Sony A6000 for several reasons.1. The constant opening of F.4 throughout the range has interested me a lot since my daughter started gymnastics. the lighting in the gym is not the best).2. Having a lens that gives me a fairly wide-angle or near-telephoto lens in one package, especially when trying to use it on a three-year-old, is great. I can't ask my daughter to wait while I change lenses to another set.3. The combination of OSS and powerful zoom gives great results for videos, so I left my Nikon D3000 and went for the Sony a6000.4 first. The overall weight and size of the camera and lens is about the same as my old Nikon D3000's 16-50mm lens/camera combo, but this kit is much more versatile and the results so far have been amazing. The depth of field in photos has been a surprise to me so far, the results I get with this lens are much tighter and more appealing than the same shots I took with the standard lens. The product has a five star rating, this lens has a few flaws.1. The power zoom isn't as fast as the manual zoom but it hasn't really affected me yet, I've played around with the speed settings and am happy with the speed of the system.2. The size of the lens and camera changes the entire paradigm of the a6000 with a 16-55mm lens from a half-pocket camera that can be mistaken for a point and shoot camera to an interchangeable lens camera of pronounced professional quality. While the whole package is still quite compact, it's not that portable anymore.3. The pop up flash is blocked by the end of the lens but I didn't actually buy this lens to use a pop up flash, I bought this lens because I don't need to use a flash to get great results even in low light Light really sang the lens. I really spent a lot of time deciding which lens to use with the Sony a6000. My wife really liked the look of the standard lens because it was small and compact. I wanted a lens that would work great in any situation and the SELP18105G really did the job. I would highly recommend this lens to anyone who wants to learn a little more about how to take great pictures. Now I just need more practice.
