You need to be very clear about why you are buying this lens. It makes sense only in three cases - as the very first lens to understand what photography is; if size and weight are important; if you mainly want to shoot video, not photos. In all other cases, you should not buy this lens. However, Fuji recommends it specifically for video and developed it specifically for this. In principle, this should be an excellent travel zoom, but only if you are willing to compromise in terms of quality and tactile sensations. An important question is also what to compare it with - if everything will be sad with fuji fixes, but if you understand that you bought it for the sake of size and very specific goals, then this is quite a good lens. For me, this is an addition to the main lenses 35 f1.4 and 18 f2, but it is unlikely that my lens will be the main one. If compared with Nikon's high-aperture mirror optics, then . what am I talking about ., you should not do this, it will be completely sad. The attached photos have 100% crop, which shows problems with detail even in the center of the frame and not even at the maximum focal length, but personally I am ready to put up with this.

Pros

The main advantage is the size and weight, which is rare nowadays. Based on this dignity, you need to evaluate the lens. If it is the size that is important, then you will have to give up detailing and drawing. But the size is not all the advantages of the lens. This lens is very quiet, almost silent. Fast focusing (adjusted for the fact that fuji is not its strongest point) The lens is very well suited for shooting video, both due to quiet focus and zoom, and because the zoom is not mechanical here and it is very easy to get smooth zooming. Another advantage is manifested on X-Pro cameras - the lens does not block the optical viewfinder even in the long focus position. The advantages include the price, a good and convenient range of focal lengths for all occasions.

Cons

The disadvantages of the lens are a consequence of its merits. First of all, low aperture and completely uninteresting and not beautiful drawing. Very poor detail and completely unimpressive colors. Since the zoom is electric, when turned on, it takes 1-2 seconds for the tube to leave the lens. It is not convenient to control the electric zoom when photographing - the zoom ring has too little travel. The tactile lens is also not pleasant - the feeling of cheap plastic in the hands, the backlash of the focus and zoom rings. The stabilizer is now outdated and poorly effective. The presence of a stabilizer and electric zoom, as well as the extension of the tube when turned on, leads to a very rapid discharge of the battery, which is not the strongest side of fuji cameras anyway.
