Review on Royal Purple 341777 Extended Filter by Bill Lacy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost molecular filter performance! WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY

Well today I changed the oil in my 2012 Ford Fiesta SES 5 speed manual with 14188 miles. My engine should be broken in by now. My three year factory warranty has expired. Time to protect my investment for the long term. This is my third oil change since I bought a new car. My last two services were done by my local Ford dealer. Dealer Prices. I am assuming the service people used Ford products on my trip as they are dealers. Let's get back to the Royal Purple update. Having in the past tuned my Fiesta with the best money can buy and after checking all available information I could find, reading reviews from car owners and seeing halved oil filters, I decided that I would the "Royal Purple" would give. one try. The 1.6 liter Ford Fiesta engine specifications call for 4.2 liters of 5w20 oil. After installing a new, upgraded Royal Purple oil filter, I added four liters of Royal Purple 5w20 oil and 0.2 liters of Lucas Pure Synthetic oil treatment. I am very, VERY happy with the results of my Ford Fiesta SES! My car runs so smooth and quiet that I have to hear if the engine is running when I'm driving down the street in gear! I'm not one to brag, but it REALLY feels like MORE POWER. Whatever it was, I definitely noticed faster acceleration without even trying to push the pedal harder! This is from a man who has used every oil, trick, gadget and snake oil on the market for the last 40 years plus some that are no longer on the market! This update went smoothly with no pain and no changes! After running the engine for about 3-5 minutes to allow the new oil to circulate, I stopped the engine to check the oil level. Well, that part was difficult to do. I had to check the oil on the dipstick three times to make sure I did it right. The oil level was perfect. The hardest part was reading the dipstick! The oil was so pure I could barely see it on a stick! I was surprised because the Royal Purple oil I used is a deep purple color! I was sure I could see THAT on the dipstick! Color filtering tells me this is HELL of oil filters! Unfortunately, anyone who says Royal Purple products are rubbish is either misinformed or just plain stupid. I will NEVER use any other oil or filter in my hot hatch!
