Review on ⏰ Youngtown 12888 Pendulum Type Movement: Quartz DIY Kits for Step Clock, 1/2 Inch Dial Thickness & 9/10 Inch Shaft Length by Troy Caldwell

Movement stopped after 3 weeks

I bought this movement to replace an old one in a watch I bought a few years ago. He worked for about 16 hours and the arrows stopped, although the pendulum continued to swing. As I think it is new and probably needs a little break in period I would set the clock to 12 o'clock, remove the battery and start over. Another day later I found it had stopped again so I requested a refund and they sent me another one. It worked fine at first, but ran about 6 minutes slower for a week until it finally stopped. I wouldn't normally give a bad review for a product that has failed and been replaced with another, but when I receive a replacement that also failed I have something to say. A watch is not a purchase of shoes or tools, defects in such items are immediately visible. The watch has to work for a while before you know if it works or not and unfortunately this watch broke right after the return policy expired (30 days) so here is my review. These moves are perfectly accurate twice a day when frozen dead, but if you're looking for time in another moment, don't buy this junk.

Pros
  • Decent work
Cons
  • Broadly ok but...
