The old light bulbs in my streetlights were 24 watts and cost about $10 each. These new bulbs are brighter, half the price ($4 each) and reduce power consumption by 20 watts per bulb. I strongly encourage you to look closely at competing products as many other LED bulbs do not have a waterproof housing. In short, I am delighted with this purchase. Three additional things to note: 1. They are new so it's not clear how long they will last. (Old light bulbs burn out about every six months. LEDs usually last much longer.)2. They don't give off much heat. The heat from the old lanterns melted the snow so this is a small but real downside.3. Look very carefully at the bulbs you are about to replace as there are a range of sizes that are slightly different but will not fit.
