I first bought the displayport version of this model to have both the display and keyboard and mouse switching features before realizing that despite having 4k support the refresh rate was 60Hz limited. I wanted to be able to use my monitor at its native 144Hz refresh rate (2k resolution) so I changed my setup to only switch the display input with the monitor itself and only use KVM to switch the KB&M input. With other cheaper KVMs on the market that only offered KB&M input switching, I found almost all of them lacked a remote control which I loved on this one, using a button on the KVM itself to switch inputs. I didn't really want this as it would require the KVM to be outdoors on my desk with cables sticking out rather than having an attractive setup or convenient placement. and a few cheaper KVMs with inputs only remotes had reviews reporting poor quality/durability and didn't have the LED that the remote has on that unit to indicate which device is currently receiving input. So I returned the display and port version of this KVM. Instead, I bought the HDMI version, which was about $20 less than the DP version and about $20 more than the cheapest other options on the market. away, having the remote next to my KB&M under my PC where it's unobtrusive but easy to access and shows at a glance which input is being controlled was really nice and definitely worth the $40 price tag in my opinion. So far it's holding up very well, no bad inputs or other issues.
