This is a very decent soft box, compatible with any studio head or monolight featuring a Bowens speedring. The good:- Very inexpensive for the quality- Double buffering- Excellent softness of the resulting light- Ease of opening vents to let heat evacuateThe less good:- Quite heavy - you will need serious stands and especially the bracket that holds the flash head or monolight needs to be very sturdy as the softbox only holds by the speedring and naturally tends to bend the flash down with is significant weight.
I fear propping it up as I don't want to damage it, so I resort to having someone hold it in position if I don't want it tilted.I also use a lightstand with an articulation tilted backwards, which allows me to center the weight on the stand by resting the softbox on the tilted boom.- At first, releases a plastic smell that can be a problem in poorly ventilated places- Somewhat tricky to set up and take down. I would not take it for a two hours job unless I absolutely needed the quality of light. All in all, for the price a great addition to my gear.
