This fun bulb can be used as a lava lamp, an accent for an existing LIFX/Hue installation, or as a table lamp. It's not something you want to use to light up an entire room with one or more lightbulbs, and I don't think LIFX did it with that intention. I already have several Hue and LIFX bulbs for home lighting. I was excited to see this new technology so I bought it to experiment. I'm definitely a fan of lightbulbs and I use a lot of ambiance apps in different rooms of my house. I am satisfied with the product and it has met my expectations. You can paint the bulb with colors from the LIFX app or use presets like a flickering fire in the corner of a room or a lava lamp. My only complaint is that the facility was extremely disappointing. I had to turn the light on and off multiple times and repeat the steps, and in the end, after about 30 minutes, it finally happened. As you can see from the pictures, either use it in an uncovered fixture or one that diffuses the light slightly because it's not very bright. I hope that in the future this technology will be improved and implemented in a19 and br30 lamps. For the accent light, see my picture with a pink lightbulb on the left.
