Review on PWAY Extender ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Receiver for Multiple Monitors by Frank Tyrance

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Need to play videos from your computer on a TV in another room? You need it.

I've just done preliminary testing on this one, please read to the end to see my next experiments. This device has 2 boxes and 2 power supplies. The transmitter has an HDMI input and output, you simply place it between the playback device and the local display. I have it between my Mac and my TV monitor. The receiver has an HDMI output. This is related to your remote TV. Both boxes also have a LAN port for Category 6 Ethernet cables to connect 2 devices. Each box also has a 5V input that connects to the included AC adapters. Ethernet supports either a direct connection or through a router, allowing you to go anywhere in your home. It doesn't support Wi-Fi, it needs to be wired. Once everything is connected, no settings are required, everything just works. The main downside, while not surprising as the specs say, is that the resolution is limited to HD or 1920 x 1024. While 4K support would be nice, it's a lot of bandwidth to connect to your Ethernet LAN. I am satisfied with the operation of this device as described. My next experiment is to try connecting to the ethernet ports on my Orbi Wi-Fi stations to see if it works wirelessly over that connection. If that's the case, that gives more flexibility in where the second screen is placed.
