I bought three packs for my two rimless aquariums with custom made acrylic lids and they are great with no extra protrusions or sagging like the 8mm+ supports. The leg on the outside isn't too long, it's just great that it could be happier. All rubber parts contain all metal parts made in the same way. I think I could glue them in place to prevent unwanted slipping, but so far that hasn't been a problem. It is highly recommended to wait for delivery as it is very difficult to find 5mm rimless tank mounts. I would also recommend using 1/4" acrylic.
