I read the care instructions verbatim: 1. Machine wash on COLD on GENTLE cycle2. Tumble dry on LOW or AIR DRY3. DO NOT BLEACH If you wash anything rubberized in ANY BUT COLD OR COOL water, it will quickly fail or deteriorate. This is common knowledge. How can people not know that? Probably because the instructions are thrown away before the product is used (and then write bad reviews about an inferior product). Decided to test this cover after washing it cold and drying on low. Place it on my wooden floor and pour 1/2 cup of water over it. What a shock: no leakage after 5 minutes of inactivity. Hey Martha Stewart, you're doing it wrong. This product is very well designed and fits my 11 inch mattress perfectly. You choose the depth, so buy the right size. Don't blame the product for trying to fit a 12 inch mattress into a 9 inch closet. Serious. If you just buy by the picture and don't do your homework, it's your fault, not the products. Also, this type of saver requires two people to remove the mattress and insert it into the record sleeve like a record.
