Review on Columbia Women's Splash Little Jacket: Stylish and Functional Women's Clothing by Adam Nelson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits large sizes

This jacket is very well made and looks and feels very high quality. However, if you plan on ordering plus-size clothing, you should probably expect it to be slightly larger than other "street" lines. I'm used to small outdoor gear and have read reviews so I usually wear a 2X on top (49" bust, 42D bra) but I'm more like an XL on the bottom (panty size 8/16). - 18 pants, I'm 5'-8" - I definitely have a swimmer's back - I tend to buy my jackets a little larger so I can wear them. Mistake. I ordered and received 3X and it fits like a tent. The hem is slightly flared (note the seam at the waist when viewed from the back). So if you have a flat bottom, the roomy size will make it look like you're wearing a square dance skirt. The sleeves are very long so don't worry about stretching your arms forward and stretching the armhole seams. The fabric is a bit "crisp" but breathable and not rubbery. Does not stick or drape. I bought this to replace my lost favorite windbreaker. It could be packed in a pocket and was very versatile, albeit a bit short with a one-way zip. This jacket has a nice storm flap with snaps so you don't have to zip up and a strong 2 way zip so you can get in the jacket, open it at the bottom and don't have to tie it at the waist. I would say that this jacket is NOT a replacement for a lightweight, foldable windbreaker that doesn't wrinkle. Here we have mesh lining across the entire shoulder and upper back and nylon lining down to the bottom hem. I'm skeptical of the "answers" to questions here saying it's not lined. Not true. There is a chart somewhere on Revain that lists this jacket as "Pocket Packable". no This is a mistake. Even if its purpose is not the same as the jacket I lost, I will keep the 2X I reordered (I returned 3X). The side pockets are spacious both in opening and in depth. On the inner chest there is a nice flat security pocket, suitable for money, cell phone or glasses. I would almost describe this jacket as a "shell". Over the fleece layer I think it could handle pretty harsh winter weather. Overall, especially for the price, this is a really good quality shell jacket that seems to last you a lifetime.
