Miraculously my two African Dwarf Frogs survived for over a year in natural winter room temperatures of 68-70º during the day and 65º at night. Then I read that they are happy at least 75º and ideally between 77 and 78º. So I bought this heater mainly because of its small size (my frog tank is very small). It was easy to install and adjust to 78º. During operation, however, the temperature display on the device itself goes from a minimum of 75 to a maximum of 81, which bothered me a bit. A separate thermometer at the other end of the aquarium reads a constant 78º.
