It is not safe, do not buy it for your pet.

The front wooden dowel that holds the tensioners, its screws snapped off and everything fell apart while the cat was in it. This thing is very cute but really insecure and not well designed to be trusted by a pet. The instructions on the product warn about falling from suction cups and while this was a common occurrence I didn't expect the things the screws go into to just fall out of the wood. Watching this and then seeing my cat hobble afterwards was horrific. Save your money and protect your cat by avoiding this product.
