Review on Darice LM357B Luminara Realistic Artificial by Jessica Bohannon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's amazing to see

. You will have the most realistic flames for sure. It's amazing to watch. There is none left. Also the use of D cells is brilliant, it would be about time someone developed LED candles that use decent batteries that can deliver some serious mAh. LED candles that use AAA are not bad, but tend to have short battery life; LED candles that use button cells are a complete joke. Never waste your money on any of these, they aren't even good for 45 minutes before fading. Getting back to the Luminaras topic, there are a few small caveats: the 3.5 x 7 inch model I just received an hour ago has a very, very annoying high-pitched squeak. probably in the 11kHz to 12kHz range, which is the limit of my high frequency hearing. It's noisy and maddening for others in the house. If this does not stop, he returns to the exchange. I'll leave it overnight to see if it improves once it "breaks in". The howling seems to come and go a little. This happens even when the candle's LED is turned off with the remote control (but the switch on the bottom of the candle is still on; when the switch is off, the whine predictably stops). Remarkably, my 3.5 x 5 inch candle does not work. Otherwise, the only other criticisms are: 1) The scent is too strong, it's overwhelming. I don't know why candle makers think people really want this, most of us just want candles. 2) Finally, it would be really nice if it were designed so that part of the candle's flame lays flat and isn't visible when the candle is off, which adds to the realism, but admittedly that's a minor thing. I would just stop and refrain, it's giving me a headache (and the smell).

Pros
  • . Beautiful packaging.
Cons
  • . I don't remember.
