This is my first outdoor solar light. I was curious as to how far the technology has developed. I've been needing something that would light up the driveway for when we're getting back home after dark and to alert intruders they're under surveillance. This flood light does the job. It's got a bracket that can be screwed in place or used as a handle if you just want a powerful handheld flood light (for camping or wandering around the backyard at night for instance). Though not as bright as a typical flood light, it will light up a 50' area sufficiently to see your way around. Anybody that gets close to our cars will be illuminated. The motion sensor seems to work out to about 30' though that may depend on positioning. Speaking of.since this thing is powered by a solar panel, you need to give some thought as to where you want to place it. It needs some direct sunlight at least part of the day. In summary, it gives off a good light, is sensitive up to 30' out and uses FREE! energy. The gift that keeps on giving!
