Review on Spectra Premium 93050 Heater Core by Samuel Nguyen

I bought this to run in my 2005 Silverado Crew Cockpit 5.3L engine. I have an LTZ console, so removing the dashboard definitely required some extra work. As a side note, you don't have to drop the entire steering column, just the brace and bracket on the right. Also, the radio doesn't need to be removed and I think you can do without removing the air conditioning panel, although it's very easy to do. This particular heater core has pivoting pipes that go through the firewall, making installation much easier where you have to cut the pipes off the original to get to it. If not, you probably need to lower the steering column. At this point, you might as well remove the entire instrument cluster from the truck, as well as remove the entire heater and cooling shroud. The new core only works for two days, but works as advertised and my commute to work is much more convenient now! This device fits exactly and has the same capacity as the original. As for QD fittings, you see a lot of people who did this repair talking about Dorman #800-409 and yes they fit both ends of this core. Mine snapped right in and didn't leak. The heater hoses come in two different diameters, but a simple worm gear clamp secures them well as this is a low pressure system. If something breaks soon (I'm going to knock a truck off a cliff) I'll update this post, but so far so good!
