went from no heat to warm thanks!

Just make sure you're ready, or make sure you have someone who knows what they're doing. You pretty much have to remove the entire dash to replace the heater core in the Silverado.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are nuances

Works do not flow like the old one. A++

Works well. Seemed good quality, especially for the price. Used it on 02 Gmc 1500 4x4. Not an easy task. Booking time is no more than 9 hours to replace the heater core and air conditioner and charge the system.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Bad instructions

Great price, perfect fit

Installed on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 and it fits perfectly. The installation process is quite complicated and you might consider having a professional do the job. But if it's convenient for you to disassemble the entire dashboard, then go for it. This heater core worked great!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

Great Price: Replacement Parts

heater core works well. Revain's price is about half what they charge for an identical part at local parts stores, so I'm very happy with this heater core. The worst part was that I had to disassemble the entire dash to replace it and also had to disconnect the AC leads to the heat exchanger. After about 8 hours of running, 1 gallon of antifreeze and charging the air conditioning, my 2007 Silverado is running great again.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • security

02 Chevy Silverado Parts

Husband hopes it doesn't run out because after all the tinkering that this job requires (he's been a mechanic for 30 years, this job is not for the faint of heart). Tubes spin out of the box, which is characteristic of this special part if you look closely. He was unhappy but decided to give it a try. So far, so good. I don't know if he was wearing things like other people here have suggested. Don't do this job unless you're willing to take apart a ton of your interior.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Discontinued

Part failed within a week = I paid 100% twice for the labor

The heater core lasted less than a week before it failed. Replacing them takes considerable effort, costing over $700 for a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, and Spectra makes no warranties on their product. That means I paid twice for the repair because the Spectra part was defective. I understand that some parts can have a good history of reliability, but in this case I received a defective part and the company was only willing to refund the cost of the part and not help with the job.

Pros
  • Pleased
Cons
  • Great price

Good product but installation is not for a novice mechanic!

No leak yet! Good equipment! The most important tool you need are patients! Good luck PS, after you get the old core out, don't screw the new one in, just leave the inlet and outlet out of the case it's in until you push the inlet and outlet through the firewall and then stop lowering the radiator into place! (Inlet and outlet of the heater core must be routed through the firewall before you can line up the rest of the dash). It was the only thing not covered on YouTube.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Not Spectra's fault. Worst heater core design, thanks GM.

Spectra fails for GM's UN ingenious design movable water filler neck on heater core, Delco's original AC core failed, Delco's 2nd AC core failed after 3 years, bought this Spectra last year and is back defective after 1 year. Movable water intakes are where they keep leaking. Why did GM go for these instead of brazed intakes like they used to last 40 years, not a problem for me, especially when it takes about 14 hours of total labor to replace and refill. Air conditioning / air conditioning. I…

Works perfectly! good for engine cooling and air conditioning

I bought this to run in my 2005 Silverado Crew Cockpit 5.3L engine. I have an LTZ console, so removing the dashboard definitely required some extra work. As a side note, you don't have to drop the entire steering column, just the brace and bracket on the right. Also, the radio doesn't need to be removed and I think you can do without removing the air conditioning panel, although it's very easy to do. This particular heater core has pivoting pipes that go through the firewall, making…

Not Spectra's fault. Worst heater core design, thanks GM.

Spectra last year. and broken again after 1 year. Movable water intakes are where they keep leaking. Why did GM go for these instead of brazed intakes like they used to last 40 years, not a problem for me, especially when it takes about 14 hours of total labor to…
