Review on 17" Kids Ukulele Guitar Toy - 4 Strings, Musical Instrument For Toddler Beginner, Keep Tone & Anti-Impact W/ Picks/Strap/Tutorial (Rosewood) by Dave Sapp

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Instrument is good quality for a child, but useless strap and instructions

This plastic ukulele is very good for a 2.5 year old. It seems to be solidly built, and it is nice that the strings really can be tuned, at least for a while. (Good to show kids how a music instrument works.) And our grandchild was really so pleased to get it. So, the instrument itself would get 4 stars. The negatives: 1. The "strap" that came with it does not work with the instrument at all. It is a black strap with a strange hook on one end, and the strap doesn't fit or attach anywhere onto the ukulele. Several of us looked at the strap, including some engineers, and tried our best to figure out how it might attach, but it doesn't work with the instrument at all. And that is a big negative, because the grandchild can't really stand up and hold the uke and strum it, all at the same time.2. The "instruction" booklet that came with the ukulele is by far the sloppiest translation from another language that we've ever seen. It was incomprehensible, to the point of being hilarious. So, big negative on that. Not that a 2 year old would care, but the older kids and adults were interested and would have made use of it if it were of decent quality.
