Ignore the bad reviews

So we've gone though 3 other toy guitars that broke after less than 3 weeks of being wailed on by a toddler. This is a hearty ukulele, and surprisingly legit for the crazy low price. Yes, you've gotta tune it often but it's a toy. It holds tune better than any other toy stringed instruments we've had. It's gonna break. But until then it's a good toy to get little kids familiar with instruments.

Pros
  • Birthday present for great grandson. He loved it.
Cons
  • Unable to adjust tuning beyond basic tuning

This plastic ukulele is very good for a 2.5 year old. It seems to be solidly built, and it is nice that the strings really can be tuned, at least for a while. (Good to show kids how a music instrument works.) And our grandchild was really so pleased to get it. So, the instrument itself would get 4 stars. The negatives: 1. The "strap" that came with it does not work with the instrument at all. It is a black strap with a strange hook on one end, and the strap doesn't fit or attach anywhere onto…

Pros
  • Very pleased with purchase
Cons
  • May not have a long lifespan

C string is crap. best in my review

I was really excited for this based on the reviews, and I wasn't expecting a super ukulele, but I was expecting something that could keep a tune as mentioned in the reviews.Well it's pretty terrible because the C string is completely wrong, can't do any scales with that string, it's totally off key. This makes it worse if you try to do any chords.I bought this to help teach my son ukulele and learn what the keys should sound like, and this completely defeats the purpose. The only reason why I…

Pros
  • Can be passed down as a family heirloom
Cons
  • May not fit into traditional musical genres

Holiday gift for my 3 year old.

He absolutely loves it. And its a great toy. I tuned it the best I could. But after everything it's still just a toy. May not provide enough sound projection for certain venues.

Pros
  • Can be used for musical therapy for children with special needs
Cons
  • May not provide enough sound projection for certain venues

Disappointing. best in my review

I gave this as a gift so the return window closed before they opened it. The sound was terrible, it was un-tune-able. I’m so disappointed! The reviews were promising but my experience was terrible. 😔Don’t be like me: read all the details. This is just colored to look like wood. The strings won’t tighten enough to play. It’s just for looks, and maybe to be bashed around.

Pros
  • The included picks make it easy to play
Cons
  • Sound may not be distinctive or unique enough

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Solid but crappy sound.

Made super durable but not enough sound couldn't hold my 2 year grandson interest and he loves music and all of his Grandpas instruments keyboards, drums, guitars, harmonicas you name it he wants to play them all was hoping this would keep him happy when he couldn't but it was just a waste of money might work for a family who didn't have so many of the real thing on hand. Gave it 3 stars because a kid would really have to work hard to destroy it.

Pros
  • The anti-impact feature ensures the instrument will last
Cons
  • May not be suitable for performers who are taller or have longer arms

It doesn’t hold tune

I have to tune it every 5 minutes to make it sound like a ukelele . Seriously I would rather send 20Bucks more and buy a real one so my kid can learn the right sound

Pros
  • For the money it’s hreat, not sure how tuned it can be though.
Cons
  • May not be loud enough for all environments

Toddler proof-ish best in my review

This is for my 3 yr old nephew so he doesn’t smash his older brothers ukulele. It’s a really nice design and looks like it’ll take a small beating. Plus it doesn’t sound bad at all so I know the little one will enjoy it!

Pros
  • Comes with everything your child needs to learn how to play
Cons
  • Some children may be disappointed with its size, finding it too small or impractical to use

Takes a beating! for my opinion

Sure doesn’t hold tune, but it’s been perfect for our two year old to ‘play’ with us. Makes a good addition to our goofy family band.

Pros
  • ★ ADJUSTABLE STRINGS & EASILY TUNABLE -- Four carbon nylon strings, not easy to break and user-friendly to your fingers
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all styles of music

My daughter plays along with dad :)

This is a cool item, and 2 year old daughter enjoys playing along with her dad. It's good for a toddler who sometimes drops or throws toys (ie all of them). It's pretty sturdy as its made from a hard plastic. The only thing we weren't sure on was how to attach the strap that came with it (there is a picture in one of the product pictures but still a little awkward for my daughter to wear).

Pros
  • Great sound and size for my 5yo who requested a guitar for Christmas. The strap is useless.
Cons
  • May not be compatible with other musical instruments

My 3 year old grandson loves it

easy to strum . but hard to keep in tune . his mother the pianist notices that a lot more than anyone else Lack of color options may limit appeal for some children.

Pros
  • Stimulates the brain and enhances cognitive development
Cons
  • Lack of color options may limit appeal for some children

Great for toddlers on my review.

It's a great size for toddlers and sounds fine. It's been through a lot of throwing and hits (against furniture) but is holding up fine. The only complaint I have is that the strings hurts my son so he's not able to just strum with his fingers.

Pros
  • My 3 year old wanted a little guitar and this worked perfectly, he loves it.
Cons
  • Limited range of notes available for advanced musicians

Durable but dirty - my new review

Seems sturdy enough for a 2 year old boy but somehow the ukulele arrived dirty even though packaging was in perfect condition.

Pros
  • Perfect for children who love to sing and perform
Cons
  • May be easily damaged if not stored or transported properly

Very poor sound and toy feeling

Very poor sound and toy feeling. I did buy it as a toy for my son, so i'm not going to give it a 1 star like some people have. But we had a prior one that was also a toy and sounded and played a lot better. Not terrible, not great. Definitely a plastic toy.

Pros
  • ★ LIGHT-WEIGHTED AND SIMPLE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT -- Small size & easy to carry, your little one can carry his/her own instrument around and feel like they’re THE musical genius, developing their musical aptitude
Cons
  • May be difficult to hold steady while playing

My toddler won't put it down!

I should give this product a low rating because it certainly woke us up very early this morning. We gave it to our toddler yesterday for his birthday and he absolutely loves it. He carried it all day and insisted on going to bed with his new "guitar". At five this morning we were woken up with my three-year-old strumming on his ukulele. Thank you for an excellent product and it truly is the best gift we’ve given. We have a happy 3-year old!

Pros
  • The four string design allows for easy learning
Cons
  • Lack of customization options may not appeal to more serious musicians

Great for toddlers.

My 21 month old grandson loves it & carries it around the house. It can be tuned but the sound quality is what you'd expect from the plastic body & strings. It is a good size for him but requires more coordination that what he has so most of the time he lays it across his lap to strum the strings. We are happy with the product.

Pros
  • Very cheap toddler’s toy.For children under 2 or 3.
Cons
  • May be too small for older children or adults

A toy - little more.

So as someone who can actually play and tune instruments, this thing is little more than a toy. It does have working tuning posts, but you can spend all day tuning the thing and as soon as you play it, it goes out of tune immediately. I was hoping this would be something my son could strum on for fun, but at least hold its tune so I could show him what playing a chord looks/sounds like - which is just not possible with this toy. It's like 90% of the way to working, if it could just hold its…

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Small size may cause discomfort for larger hands

Standing up to my toddlers so far.

We got this for my 4yo's birthday. He absolutely loves it. He and his 2yo brother fight over it! When it's not being played with (as a guitar anyway.), they have stood on it, used it as a golf club etc without it breaking.

Pros
  • A relaxing and calming activity for children
Cons
  • May not provide enough volume to be heard over louder instruments

Revainrating 5 out of 5

appropriate for toddlers

My grandson did enjoy the toy Ukulele Guitar. It was the right size. This is not to learn on, it is a toy and you can not tune it.The pictures are a little more flattering the the actual thing but for a toddler it works well.

Pros
  • Develops a sense of rhythm and timing
Cons
  • Lack of adjustable controls may limit possibilities

Quality starter best in my review

Perfect Christmas gift for my 6 year old who has shown a little interest in playing the ukulele. I enjoy that it’s plastic so it can be used as a toy after we upgrade her to a wooden one if it holds her interest. I just can’t figure out the strap thing that came with it, no instructions and I wish it came with a ukulele pick.

Pros
  • A great way for children to learn about pitch and intonation
Cons
  • May not be adjustable enough to accommodate different playing styles
