Even with my store's supplier discount, this Depo external grip was cheaper than the original grip, so I gave it a try. WOW! 100% metal except for the linkage mount, and even that's pretty tough nylon rather than brittle plastic. Installation is the same on all, requiring the removal of two locknuts and a connecting cable (to the operator) hence five stars for that and all others for that matter. I have driven the Astro/Safari #9 for many years so removing the door panel is not a big deal and gives a good chance of getting the panel properly cleaned anyway. Youtube University has people cut a hole in the door jamb for the installation, but to be honest this method is just as tedious and expensive as the real thing. I don't think they've ever heard of a bobble head or a 10mm wrench. Two 10mm nuts must be removed from your old grip to use on this (and all) as nuts are not included. GOOD PRODUCT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
