I can't say the thing doesn't work. I can say that it is very slow and troublesome. The steamer needs to be right on the fabric to even work (I've made shirts and pillowcases). The water tank is very small and has to be constantly refilled. My guess is that the 800 watt steam generator just doesn't have enough power to be used. Either go back to the old ironing board or get a professional model with more power.
