Review on General Tools 81264 Rustproof Grommets by Stephen Parkell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really reliable and pleasant to use. A noticeable step is better than expected.

This is a small but noticeable improvement over the usual hardware store quality. Of course he does what is on the bench. But there's a lot of little attention to detail that you wouldn't normally expect. All metal items are coated with black oxide to hold some oil. The plastic case is ideal for all tools. The included block of wood is really good for this purpose, not just a flag element that snaps on the second use. The hub spare slots aren't quite right for a full refill kit, but if you use four or five of the kit first, it's spot on. The upper stem is two-piece, so you could theoretically install a new face if you scratched it too badly. I don't have to take this kit more than 3 or 4 times a year at most, but it's really nice to have a tool that you know won't spark awkward conversations about how you're getting the job done. I wouldn't say I'm _happier_ after using it, but I'm more confident that the world is turning right if that makes sense.

Pros
  • LUG INSTALLATION TOOL: Select your fabric, place a block under your item and center the hole cutout where you will attach the sleeve. Punch a hole with a hammer and mount. Place the eyelet on the mandrel, fluff it evenly, and finish your project.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
