The Perfect “Apartment” + A Few Extra Tips!

We bought a double door for our single ferret. We have been living with her for more than 4 years and finally decided on a cage and I'm glad we chose her. I hate keeping her in a cage so I wanted to make sure she had plenty of room to roam and she does! My husband assembled it himself in under an hour. The ramps are covered to make it easier for ferrets to get on and off each level. Also, the cage comes with wheels so it's easy to push if needed. Tip 1: You can buy the Ferret Nation Kit, which includes level covers + extra ramp covers, for $46, but since it already includes ramp covers, you can also save money by going to Target or Walmart and buying bathroom rugs. Target has two sizes of bathmats for under $10 each (you only need 4). A small rug is suitable for half tiers, while large rugs are ideal for full tiers. I had to cut out a small square for level 3 so the ferret could still get in from the ramp, but other than that it's perfect! If you go to Target or Walmart, you can choose the cage color you want, the fluffiness of the rug, and spend less money overall. In addition, mats reduce the noise the ferret makes. Tip 2: There is also this pole that goes through the bottom of the cage and I thought it would be wise to buy a window curtain to access the pole to hide the ferret. Things. Of course I bought one to match the rugs and my bedroom. As you can see in the picture, it's perfect too! Tip 3: If you're a light sleeper like me, I made the decision a long time ago to ditch my water bottle and instead opted for a double platter for feeding small dogs/cats. Peel. It's perfect for level 3 as you can see in the photos. Also, my ferret prefers to drink from a bowl rather than a water bottle. Tip 4: Walmart sells small dog beds for around $5. Every few months I kick my ferret out and buy her a new bed + occasionally I change a small fleece blanket for $5. Helps reduce pet odor. Hope all of these tips helped!
