I am a big music lover and always have music on when I work, drive, exercise, read and so on. Being such a fanatic, I've built up a small collection of headphones (from Sony, Grado, Sennheiser, V-Moda, Koss, etc.) over the years to better enjoy different music: from rock, alternative, reggae to electronica . For my computer, I use a pair of Kanto YU2 speakers with a DAC and a Yamaha subwoofer to play while I work. In terms of wireless speakers, I have Denon's Heos 7 at home which are connected to my home WiFi and they sound pretty amazing. And to top it off, I also have a pair of Sony Bluetooth speakers (SRS XB3 and SRS X55), a Doss XL, a Tribit X-Boom and a pair of Ultimate Ears that I rotate to use in my practice room , master bathroom. , terrace and for travel. I have been a long time subscriber to Olavs Gadgets (formerly Clavinet Junkie) YouTube channel and bought a pair of speakers (Doss XL and Tribit X-Boom) on his recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. Then a few weeks ago (early July 2019 I think) Olav showed off the new Earfun UBoom and compared it to the Tribit X-Boom (which was his previously recommended portable BT speaker) and I thought this new speaker sounded amazing. sharper, cleaner and has better definition. And when he connected two Earfuns together (and they play separate left and right channels/stereo, unlike many other BT speakers including the Tribit which only plays mono) the sound became more dynamic and didn't have the haze of the Tribit X .boom. It has. Then Olav mentioned that he had a 20% off Revain coupon code and I was hooked and decided to buy a pair to enjoy a richer soundstage. The Earfun UBoom is a good little speaker. It's relatively small, light weight, waterproof, IPX7 certified and well built. And it has a very balanced sound and a lot of appeal for a speaker of this size. When I first received my new speaker I decided to do some testing and compare it to my other Tribit X-Boom BT speaker. I first played a track from Spotify (in high bitrate mode) on the Tribit X-Boom, which seemed to sound pretty good at the time until I listened and compared it to the Earfun UBoom. Tribit played this track and it sounded good, with great highs, but it sounded very bassy and dirty. Played the same track again with Earfun and this little speaker showed the track better with a more balanced, rich and extended sound. I've done this over and over again and always get the same result. Now Earfun has encouraged me to make it my BT speaker and not the Tribit. But since I bought two Earfun I decided to put a speaker on either side of my practice room and see how it sounds. And I was amazed that the speakers made the music sound more immersive and really wrapped the room in music. So if you're looking for great little speakers for medium to large rooms that are well built, waterproof and sound good - well balanced, check out the Earfun UBoom - you won't be disappointed.
