Review on Pelican 1630 Camera Case: Foam & Padded Dividers, Multiple Colors Available by Misty Thomsen

In this case are my Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and Plössl lenses for when I travel to more open astronomical places. I needed a heavy-duty suitcase that would not only protect my belongings from obvious damage like water and blunt force, but also from internal shifting during the move. Because the mirrors in a telescope must remain perfectly aligned, I needed a housing that would hold the tube head over bumps and everything else. I used the case the first day I received it and couldn't be happier. Absolutely nothing moved even an iota. I even lived on the edge and turned the whole case upside down and fiddled with it a bit and still nothing moved. I haven't gone as far as sinking it, but the case is totally worth it. In addition, it was the only housing in its class that was suitable for my telescope. Good job Pelican. I will use this manufacturer again and will probably replace the foam annually to maintain integrity.
