Review on πŸ–ŠοΈ Heavy Duty School Sharpener by iPoint by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great heavy duty pencil sharpener for standard sized pencils only!

For the mother of elementary and middle school children and elementary school teachers, having the right tools in the classroom is essential to achieve optimal classroom performance without noise, chaos and disruption. The right sharpener is critical to maintaining this environment. The ideal pencil sharpener should be fast, quiet, handle many pencils a day, and have a sharp blade. The Westcott iPoint Heavy Duty School Sharpener has a durable, resilient outer casing and non-slip feet to keep it in place. during use, a quiet motor, auto-stop technology and a 12-hole spiral blade that creates rounded pencil points. This sharpener is really quiet, has multiple size holes, a large shaving bowl and a sharp blade that sharpens quickly and efficiently. Pencils with a nice long narrow end. While I prefer my pencils to have a sharp but short point with a shorter wooden collar (similar to factory sharpened pencils), my kids prefer the longer, narrower point that this sharpener gives. The largest hole is not big enough or deep enough for hexagonal and triangular colored and graphite pencils (e.g. kindergarten pencils). It simply rips the tip off the base which then gets stuck in the sharpener and has a hard time getting out without disassembling the whole assembly. For these large, specially shaped pencils, I recommend hand sharpeners with large holes. This sharpener has performed well over the past four months. I will update my review to give an idea of how long the blade sharpening mechanism works effectively. Overall, I would only recommend this sharpener for everyday use in the classroom and at home just for sharpening standard size pencils and crayons. Rated excellent-
