I've used this little gem several times on three different courses. Every time it works perfectly just press the power button and after a few seconds the distance to hole 1 will be displayed on the course you are on. There is no lag or delay with this unit, I usually walk, but I took it in a cart and the display immediately changed the footage on display as we drove down the fairway. Finally, less than a second after the car stopped, the display stabilized at a fixed distance. No waiting, no delays, just walk up to the ball, look at the display and grab the right club, knowing exactly how hard to swing. Simplicity at its core. There are no buttons to press, no tiny numbers to see, and no unnecessary scoring or shot logging. There are no downloads, no annual fees, and no hidden costs to unlock "Pro" features. The 3000 model shares the same form factor and control buttons as the previous 1500 model, allowing you to use legacy accessories with the same simple, easy-to-use interface. . At first I thought the 3000 would automatically advance to the next hole, but it turned out that the 3000 was so popular with everyone I golfed with that they all rushed to the next hole while I was teeing off. This is only a problem with dog feet as the distance is 560 yards and the Swami 3000 can read 378 yards. Therefore, Swami does NOT show distances along the centerline of the fairway. Other more expensive GPS's, which cost 3-4 times more, show different distances to hazards and fairway turns. The service and technology this device uses are the most advanced available. No other golf GPS device can provide more accurate readings. The best any other device can do is to match this device in accuracy as it too uses the same technology. You then need to create an account and download the map the same way you did for the Swami 1500. This very inexpensive but extremely useful device gives the golfer a significant advantage on approach shots and crucial accuracy.
